Many of us overlook our gifts because of the gray cloud cover and negative drone created by others who think the only way they can succeed is to tear down someone else. But we cannot buy into those cloud covers and negativity.
It is sometimes a struggle to hold on to the truth that we all have special gifts. We all can’t sing, dance or turn pennies into millions. I don’t think God used a measuring stick when handing out our gifts — some being bigger and more important than others. I am so touched by the gift of kindness shown by my neighbor who simply calls to check on me when not seeing me for a while; or what better gift than the gift of laughter – joyous laughter; the spiritual gift from one whose prayers give so much strength and comfort.
Gifts come in all sizes, shapes and colors. We must stop comparing what we have to what someone else has to offer the world. This world of ours is more that big enough to embrace every gift that God has deliver to each of us uniquely.
Today I vow to ignore all negative drone and gray clouds of purposeful discouragement. My gifts are wonderful and are as significant as every drop in a mighty and powerful ocean.
