The Kitchen Queens – A Very Special Calling

I grew up in a small town with strong women who loved to serve, especially at church. It was a royal charge to serve as an usher or the church greeter, but the prize crowns were awarded to those sisters who knew how to throw down in the kitchen! Kitchen duty, in my opinion, then…

WAITING ROOM CHRONICLES #1

I love watching stories come and go in this colorful life I’m passing through. Each encounter with another life is so interesting, though I know not one morsel of truth about some of these other human beings. Creating stories is what I do, and one of my favorite pastimes is sitting and watching colorful people passing in and out of the neighborhood auto shop.                    OLD IS AS OLD LIVES

As toddlers learning to stand, then walk,

It was exciting and so cute for all to see.

But as we struggle through our senior years

It seems as if we’re back in toddlerville,

Struggling to stand, unsteady, fearing a fall, bearly able to see.

Grabbing hold of anything to get from here to there.

But it’s not exciting and certainly not cute.

This place of unknown arrival, our unsteady march to this inevitable end;

This does not have to be a Trail of Tears.

We can walk it with  Style and Grace or with a fancy cane or other steady hand.

Keep up with times, expand your minds OR just wallow in a sea of dispair.

But as was said in Habakkuk 2:

Thus he walks and works, as well as lives by faith, perseveres to the end.”

My end times may be unsteady, I may even stumble and fall.

But that’s just a part of the cycle of life;

Not just for a few, but for us all.
